Evans Update

Well...Houston life is getting exciting. Just thought I'd post a life update.
Leah and Allen are moving to Dallas (actually Sachse) next week. The movers come on Monday. Please remember my mom in your prayers because to say she is having a hard time with it doesn't even cover it. Plus, having two babies on her own in Dallas will be tough for Leah.
Hilary took Brynley and Aubrey to Panama City last week with the Evans and Brynley had to be hospitalized for three days. She's barely over one month old and Hilary's totally blaming herself because Brynley was just too little to fight off some germs she caught from Aubrey. Aubrey then proceeded to get a yeast infection so their household is just tired of being sick.
Ace is tantrum-ing (he has turned it into a verb) daily. He's throwing toys, hitting and biting. Crossing his hands no longer works so I've started making him sit in timeout for five seconds. Such a sweet, precious exterior is hiding wild mood swings...wow, sounds like me! Just pray (if you remember) for patience and wisdom on how to get through to him effectively without raising my voice or spanking him. As Dr. Phil would say, I've got to discover his "currency." On a praiseworthy note, he said "Amen" for the first time on Monday night and if you ask him where Jesus is, he'll point to the sky.

Tongue-tied Update

So, Shannon was concerned when we got together in Tyler that Ace may be a little tongue-tied. When we went to the doctor Tuesday, she had him stick his tongue out and it cleared his lips so she wasn't very concerned. She said that we will watch it and check to make sure that it doesn't impair his eating or speech and in most circumstances, cases as mild as his will correct themselves. Oh it's good to have speech pathologists for best friends! I actually had to have that thing under my tongue clipped when I was little so I thought I just passed it down to my little buddy. Just an update. Love ya'll.

The Sewing Continues!

Since I only have a few more days off until school starts up again, I thought it would be a good idea to keep up with sewing! Today was my first time to "independently" sew (I took a lesson a few weeks ago).....it was quite scary! Multiple times I thought it was going to end up in disaster, but to my surprise, the bag turned out just fine! It's a little smaller than the first and there are many imperfections, but I love it just the same! If anyone wants a new bag, let me know! I'd love the extra practice!!

Project Runway - Lovin' Stella!

OMG! Please tell me that you watched Project Runway on Thursday - the one where they had to take a photograph of New York as inspiration. Stella says "I took a picture of the blinders on the horse...why....because it's LEATHA" (i.e. leather). Oh I crack up every time I think about it.

On another note...The Office is on right now and Michael just said the quote that I couldn't think of last weekend. He wants to be set up on a date and Phyllis says she has a friend. Michael asks, "Could we share a rowboat...could a rowboat support her without capsizing." It's funny every time.

Oh...I watch too much tv.

P.S. American Idol Rewind was on this afternoon and it was a Clay Aiken episode. I miss that season.
